A l’occasion de la Journ\u00e9e internationale des migrant\u00b7e\u00b7s <\/a>2020, le<\/a> Border Violence Monitoring Network (BVMN)<\/a>, r\u00e9seau form\u00e9 de plusieurs ONG, a publi\u00e9 un rapport sur les <\/span>refoulements ill\u00e9gaux aux fronti\u00e8res de l’Union europ\u00e9enne, les fameux <\/span>pushback, <\/i>et sur les violences qui les caract\u00e9risent. Un livre noir en deux volumes fruit d’enqu\u00eates et r\u00e9colte de quelque 900 t\u00e9moignages depuis 2016 aux fronti\u00e8res de de l’Italie, la Gr\u00e8ce, la Hongrie, la Croatie, la Slov\u00e9nie et sur la route des Balkans. Le livre noir analyse la mani\u00e8re dont ces actes de violences sont devenus <\/span>syst\u00e9matiques et appelle \u00e0 mettre fin \u00e0 l’impunit\u00e9 des autorit\u00e9s impliqu\u00e9es dans ces pushback.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

THE BLACK BOOK OF PUSHBACKS<\/h2>\n

Today the Border Violence Monitoring Network (BVMN) are releasing a landmark publication on illegal border pushbacks. The \u2018Black Book of Pushbacks\u2019 brings together a wealth of evidence on these violations, analysing in detail the way that these brutal acts have become systematised at the external border and renewing calls to end impunity for perpetrating EU authorities.<\/span><\/p>\n

A 1500-page \u2018Black Book\u2019 that documents the horrific violence suffered by over 12,000 people at the hands of authorities on the EU\u2019s external borders has been released today \u2013 International Migrants Day \u2013 by The Left in the European Parliament. Compiled by BVMN and printed over two volumes, the \u2018Black Book of Pushbacks\u2019 is a collection of hundreds of testimonies of migrants and asylum seekers who have experienced human rights violations at external borders.<\/p>\n

Pushbacks are illegal under international law, but member state authorities have long ignored such breaches of human rights which are contrary to the EU\u2019s founding principles and international obligations.
